- through our website, including enquiry forms and any client login area;
- when we are engaged to carry out supplier due diligence, own-label NPD support, labelling compliance reviews, or supplier approval work on behalf of a client;

3. The data we collect
We collect different categories of personal data depending on the nature of our relationship with you:
- Identity Data: name, job title, and similar identifiers.
- Contact Data: business address, email address, and telephone number.
- Financial Data: billing and payment details, where relevant to a client engagement.
- Technical and Usage Data: IP address, browser type, and how you use our website.
- Commercial and Assessment Data: information gathered in the course of supplier due diligence, product assessments, NPD support, or labelling compliance reviews, which may include the names and contact details of individuals at supplier or client organisations.
We do not knowingly collect any Special Category Data (such as data about health, race, religion, or sexual orientation). Where we need to collect personal data to perform a contract or to comply with our obligations to a client, and that data is not provided, we may not be able to deliver the service in question.
4. How we use your personal data, and why we are allowed to
We only use personal data where the law allows us to. This is most commonly where:
- it is necessary to perform a contract with you or with the client who has engaged us;
- it is necessary for our legitimate interests, such as delivering due diligence, NPD, or compliance services, provided this does not override your own rights;
- we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation; or
- you have given consent, for example to receive marketing communications.
5. How and why we share your data
Unlike a certification scheme where audit findings are typically confidential between the assessor and the party being assessed, MNGP is usually engaged by a retailer, wholesale group, or buying organisation to assess suppliers on their behalf. This means:
- where we carry out supplier due diligence, product assessment, or supplier approval work, the outcome of that assessment is shared with the client who commissioned it, as the core purpose of the engagement;
- supplier and client contacts should expect that information provided to MNGP in this context will be reported to the commissioning party, not held back as confidential from them.
We may also share personal data with:
- service providers who support our IT, website, and business administration;
- professional advisers, including auditors and consultants supporting a specific engagement;
- regulators or enforcement authorities, such as the Food Standards Agency or a Local Authority, where we identify an immediate and significant food safety risk or evidence of potential illegal activity, or where we are legally required to disclose information.
We do not sell personal data to third parties. We require every third party we share data with to protect it and to use it only for the purpose we specify.
6. Marketing and cookies
Where you have opted in to receive marketing from MNGP, you may withdraw that consent at any time by emailing team@mngp.co.uk. Our website may use cookies to support core functionality; you can control cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how parts of the site work.
7. International transfers
MNGP does not currently transfer personal data outside the UK.
8. Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting, or contractual reporting requirements.
9. Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- request access to your personal data;
- request correction of inaccurate data;
- request erasure of your data;
- object to, or request restriction of, our processing;
- request transfer of your data; and
- withdraw consent, where consent is the basis for processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email team@mngp.co.uk. We will not usually charge a fee, and we aim to respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you believe your data has been mishandled.
10. Changes to this notice
We may update this notice from time to time. Please check this page periodically for the latest version.
